Forget the grim location and go for the food -- TRUST ME. Best campechana I've had in years, and ceviche that's to die for. Only complaint? The jukebox is way too loud.

If you like Mexican Sea Food "mariscos" this is the place to be in Oklahoma. The food is great and the prices are affordable. Their salsa witchol is also good The place it self has not the best location it might be little hard to find but once you are inside you will love the food. The restaurant might need a little bit more cleaning.

I am not going to lie..when I walked into this place I about turned around and walked out but my boyfriend has been here multiple times and wanted the fajitas. I had already made up my mind that I was not going to like this place. The place was packed tho. There was a trio going around playing for people and a couple of ladies trying to sale empanadas and CDs. Very nice and respectful tho. We got the menu and it was like a novel! Front to back full of different options and LOTS of seafood. I am not a big fan of seafood so I did not have many options to choose so that kinda annoyed me but my boyfriend already know what we were getting. Our server was...well..not the best. It took forever to get our order placed and was Missing until our food came out. Asked for an extra plate and he never came back with the plate or to check on us. We ordered the Parrillada Mexicana. Holy smokes. This should be called the mother of fajitas..because that's what it is. It says it serves 2 people..it easily serves 4 or more. This is a huge serving of chicken, beef, onion, bell peppers, whole green onion, banana pepper and Serrano peppers. This was served in a Skillet that looks like a pig. It came with two big plates with rice, beans, sour cream and guacamole. All for $26!!! I completely regret thinking I would not like this place cause for the amount of food and taste completely changed my mind. Go. Just do it. Run.

This is a great Mexican restaurant in south OKC. Pretty much everything on their menu was in Spanish and there were a ton of options so it took a long time for me to make a decision. If you like seafood, this is your spot. I tried some octopus off a friend's plate and it was great! I played it safe and ordered a carne asada burrito for myself. It came with a salad (which was just ok), guacamole and sour cream. The beef was seasoned well and I highly recommend it! And it was less than $8. Prices are very fair here. Horchata is available even though it wasn't on the menu and has free refills. Service was really slow. Our waitress was MIA for the most part. She was really nice and could speak English which helped because other employees did not. The dining room was spacious and had lots of tables to accomodate groups of any size. A 10% tip will be added to parties of 6 or more. Oh, and there's a jukebox that plays at random times and it is extremely loud! They need to turn that thing down because you can barely have a conversation when it is playing.

While the atmosphere may be lacking, the food's outstandingness, more than makes up for that. If you enjoy Mexican seafood, this is definitely the place to find yourself. We had the Thursday special of fish tacos, which were outstanding, We also had the deep fried prawns - super jumbo shrimp. It was all incredible, but the dipping sauce for the prawns was a little spicy for our gringo palates. My wife and I both had the Horchata to drink, at it was the best we ever had, it had hints of caramel flavor. They advertised some happy hours, and the price for their beer then, was rather inexpensive.

I like Mi Lindo, I really do. But I'm not sure how much. More authentic than most Mexican restaurants in the city that cater to Okies, Mi Lindo has the feel of a Mexican sports bar, with beer babe posters, Mexican baseball playing on the television, and inflatable beer bottles and marlins hanging from the ceiling. We sat close enough to the kitchen for me to think about not being overly concerned with cleanliness, which may not be the best self-talk to administer in a restaurant setting. To be clear, I'm not especially puritan about such things. Still, I wondered whether maybe I should be in a place where I just ordered a ceviche tostada. Know what I mean? The Dos Equis came in a bottle with lime. The water came in a bottle, too. I requested tap water instead and the waitress accomodated me, but with some confusion. The salsa was way watered down and tinny, and the chips were unremarkable. Bummer. But the ceviche, when it arrived, was pretty good, if under salted, and the carne asada, with grilled green onions and healthy sides of rice and beans, had a really lovely char and nice flavor. Our bill was very reasonable, and we left quite satisfied. Happy hour could be fun! Tuesdays and Thursdays 6 to 7: beers under $1!

Mi Lindo Mazatlan (Spanish for "My Lindo Mazatlan")* is a pretty darn authentic seafood spot in southwest Oklahoma City that Joy was kind enough to pick for a recent UYE. It's rare that I absolutely must break out my increasingly rusty Spanish, but I think only one of the staff spoke English (flawlessly, I should add). The point is this is not exactly Taco Bell: This is Mexican seafood, with a tremendous variety of well-made, flavorful dishes. The nice thing about the Supper Club UYEs is that we usually wind up swapping germs and sampling everyone's plates, so I was able to taste a wide variety of food, all of which I would classify under the category of "yummy." I went for one of the many different seafood cocktails they feature. My octopus cocktail may as well have been a ceviche, with strong acidic citrus flavor permeating every ingredient, and lots of fruit included. But of course, when it comes to octopus cocktail, you care mainly about the octopus, and I was quite impressed. Rubbery octopus is truly revolting, and undercooked octopus even more so; this was a perfect balance, firm and flavorful, cooked but not overdone. The dish as a whole was very one-note (ceviche is one strong dish!), but at least it was a great note. Do be prepared for random distractions: A juke box in the corner had the volume set for a busy Saturday night, not a quiet Thursday, and we did have mariachis come through at one point. But we had a great meal, and I'll go back any time. * I kid, I kid. "My Beautiful Mazatlan," after the town on the Mexican Pacific coast.

I had the Bonata with fish and shrimp. It was excellent with the right amount of spiciness. I tried some of the octopus cocktail and it was tender and not chewy. The horchata was pretty good too. This is a mom and pop type restaurant so don't expect to take someone on a 1st date. The food however trumps the atmosphere. Reasonably priced for good seafood.

Man oh man. This place has some tasty stuff!! This food adventure was well worth it. I highly suggest a visit here if you like Mexican style seafood. Located in a drab shopping plaza next to a billiards, the interior was clean and you won't leave smelling like tacos or burritos ala most Tex-Mex places. Most of the clientele are of Hispanic origin. When I called to learn more about their hours, the ladies claimed they couldn't speak English. My mom plays that trick a lot, so I can understand why they might have pretended... Thankfully there were two girls working the night we came in who spoke English. We did a lot of pointing at the menu anyway! Upon checking out, a group of worker's from Ted's sat at a table. Kind of funny. I ordered: -Octopus & Shrimp Tostada- I'm accustomed to having tostadas with ceviche style seafood, but Mi Lindo's version was fully cooked. As you can tell in my picture they topped my tostada with a healthy portion. I was asked if I wanted to add avocado, so know that it normally does not come with it already on top. it was good with the seafood left all nat-ri-al. I added some sauce for a little kick in flavor. -Mexican Coke- pretty standard bottled Coke. -Brocheta de Mariscos- cooked octopus with a skewer of fish and veggies, rice, fried potatoes and salad. The salad was the bagged iceburg mix you can get at the market with a tomato and cucumber. Rice was OK. Nothing exciting there, but the protein portion was a mind bendingly large hunk of goodness. Again, the seafood was left to stand out on it's own with minimal seasoning. You can always add salt, pepper or any of the variety of hot sauces from the table. This came with your choice of flour or corn tortillas. I ordered flour and noticed that they got hard very quickly :( -Horchata- I didn't notice this before, but they do have Aguas frescas on the back of the menu as a beverage option. You can order tamarind and hibiscus as well. I really enjoyed their Horchata, it wasn't too thick or grainy. I did taste a bit of Bonata, carne asada and ceviche cocktails. All were really good as well. The downside? Yes, the jukebox can be a nuisance, especially if you're trying to have conversations with your friends. Some of the sauces on the table were expired, so watch out for that if you're a stickler. I braved it and didn't have any stomach issues. The menu is mostly in Spanish, but if you have a smart phone, Google will be your best friend.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
